TNM Super League champions Nyasa Big Bullets have engaged Zimbabwean coach Kalisto Pasuwa’s representatives to extend his stay at the People’s Team, having signed a year-long deal on February 9 last year.

Bullets Chief Administration Officer Albert Chigoga said discussions with Pasuwa’s representatives were underway.

“However, it is premature to divulge details as such issues are confidential,” he said.

Pasuwa could not be reached for comment.

Football Consultant Ngamanya Sapao believes that Pasuwa and Bullets will reach an agreement to extend their relationship.

“I think Pasuwa is doing well at Bullets. Everybody is talking about him, even his assistants want him to stay. He is good at nurturing talent, so to me I feel comfortable for him to remain at the club,” he said.

Bullets are desperate to keep the former Zimbabwe National Football Team coach, having offered him a long-term contract at the beginning of last year but Pasuwa pressed for a short-term deal.

Last month, Zimbabwean online publication The Sunday Mail named Pasuwa the most successful Zimbabwean coach for the past decade, having won four league titles in Zimbabwe, two league titles in Malawi, 2015 All African Games, and qualifying for Chan finals in Rwanda and Afcon finals in Gabon.

The Sunday Mail reported that Pasuwa has won a league title in every season he has coached a club since 2011.

“He is the only coach to win four straight league titles in the premiership era and automatically leads the log when it comes to achievements in the last decade. Pasuwa has four league titles, Norman Mapeza has two while the trio of Joey Antipas, Lloyd Chitembwe and Lizwe Sweswe has one a piece,” reported The Sunday Mail.
