The top two teams on the TNM Super League log table, Be Forward Wanderers and Kamuzu Barracks (KB), are scheduled to headline the kickoff of the second round at Civo Stadium Saturday.

The two teams are set to meet in one of the nine matches lined up for this weekend as action returns after a mid-season break.

Super League of Malawi (Sulom) General Secretary, Williams Banda, said the match between Wanderers and KB was picked to reflect the stiff competition in the top flight league.

“We want to resume action on a high. We are operating in line with our Pokopoko slogan. We want the second round to start with a lot of noise. Wanderers and KB are among the teams chasing the league title; so, we expect them to demonstrate that they are really title contenders,” Banda said.

TNM Public Relations and Sponsorship Manager, Limbani Nsapato, said they had lined up activities to entertain fans during the event.

“We are treating this event as a relaunch of the league. We have various activities to entertain football lovers on this day. The message to our customers is that we are always with them. We will have live performances from well known artists. We want to see a big crowd at Civo on Saturday,” Nsapato said.

Meanwhile, Sulom has shifted Saturday’s Mzuzu Stadium match between Moyale and Ntopwa to Sunday.

The change has also seen the Mzuni and Ntopwa encounter moving from Sunday to Monday.

Wanderers are leading the log table with 33 points while KB are second with 30 points.
