Kamuzu Barracks rekindle Chitowe memories
TNM Super League defending champions, Kamuzu Barracks (KB), on Sunday made a winning return to Chitowe Stadium where they grabbed their first league title last December.
KB came back from the Dwangwa venue with a 2-0 victory over Mafco FC, thanks to goals from Harvey Nkacha and Kelvin Hanganda.
KB moved to position eight on the log table.
KB Coach, Billy Phambala, said he felt good to win on the pitch where they made history.
“It is a sweet victory, more so that Chitowe is in our history. To win against our fellow soldiers is something nice,” Phambala said.
Mafco Coach, Temwa Msuku, blamed his goalkeeper for letting in silly goals.
“Our goalkeeping was poor. I cannot blame the defence or other departments but I should be flank here, the goalkeeper has let us down,” said Msuku, whose team lies on ninth position with 11 points.
