Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has announced that this year’s Carlsberg Cup final will be played at Kamuzu Stadium on September 10.
Fam Executive Committee Member, Daudi Mtanthiko, and Carlsberg Malawi Senior Brands’ Manager (alcoholics), Twikale Chirwa, disclosed this during a kit presentation ceremony to the semifinalists at Mpira Village, Chiwembe Township, Blantyre yesterday.
Chirwa said they wanted the final in Mzuzu, but the poor condition of the pitch forced them to change plans.
“In the interest of the game, we have decided to hold the final at Kamuzu Stadium to have a befitting end,” he said before handing over uniforms to the semifinalists, Be Forward Wanderers, Silver Strikers, Mangochi Police and Mafco through their representatives.
Mtanthiko urged the teams to observe fair play during the semifinals between Wanderers and Mangochi tomorrow at Kamuzu Stadium, then Silver versus Mafco at Civo Stadium, Lilongwe on Sunday.
