Karonga United mentor, Kondwani Mwalweni, is positive about his side’s survival in the TNM Super League despite registering their 11 defeat of the season against Mzuni FC on Monday.

Lughindiko Nhlane’s glancing header from Lazarus Nyemera’s cross was enough to condemn Karonga to the defeat at Mzuzu Stadium.

But Mwalweni insisted that his side’s survival bid was possible.

“It was not our day. We tried everything only that we did not take our chances. But, it is too early to give up,” said Mwalweni, whose side failed to register any shot on target throughout the contest.

Mzuni’s assistant coach, McNebat Kazuwa, praised his charges after what he described as a tough contest.

“It was a tough game considering that both of us were in desperate need of a win,” Kazuwa said in a post-match interview.
