Karonga United rope in 6 players
Karonga United are leaving no stone unturned ahead of their third-turn Super League participation, as they have roped in Hardy Ng’andu and Christopher Mtambo from relegated Chitipa United.
Karonga Chairperson, Alufeyo Chipanga, confirmed that the duo has joined the team alongside other “big names” from top clubs.
He declined to mention the big names, fearing that other teams may lure them away from his side.
Karonga have been linked with the signing of Be Forward Wanderers striker Khumbo Ng’ambi and Victor Nyirenda from Blantyre United.
“Previously, we used to cheat ourselves that we could do it in the Super League with our locally-developed players. But now we have taken two players from Blantyre United, and two others from Silver Strikers,” Chipanga said.
Meanwhile, Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) Chairperson, Lameck Khonje, has said they are concerned with Mzuni FC, who are losing some key players in this transfer window.
Khonje said Mzuni are digging their own grave following the exit of Lazarus Nyemera (Silver Strikers), Chimwemwe Kumwakwa and Zelliat Nkhoma to Masters Security.
Recently, Mzuni Coach, Alex Ngwira, conceded that losing players would be disastrous to his team, but said any player was free to leave.
