Kau Kau count themselves out

With eight games to wind up the TNM Super League, Azam Tigers have ruled themselves out of the title contest.

Having earned 31 points from 22 games while placed on position nine, Kau Kau Technical Director, Robin Alufandika, said their target was on a top-five finish.

“We have been a good side, but consistency seems to be a very big problem in our team. We manage to win a particular game then lose and draw. We have drawn more games than wins. At least, if we could be winning some more games in a row, then we could be confident and start dreaming about the title,” Alufandika said.

On Sunday, Tigers failed to end their winless run against Nyasa Big Bullets stretching to 2012 when Kau Kau defeated the Peoples’ Team twice.

In the first round, Tigers and Bullets also drew 1-1. In 22 games, Tigers have won seven, drawn 10 and lost five.

Meanwhile, Silver Strikers still lead the league table with 42 points from 22 games followed by Bullets and Mafco with 41 points each.
