Kelvin Ngoma features in Zambian film

Lilongwe-based actor Kelvin Ngoma, who has starred in a number of films including The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by Hollywood star Chiwetel Ejiofor, is set to star in a Zambian film.
Ngoma said he was super excited to be casted in a movie by Zambian director Maxwell Mwape.
“I will play the lead actor and the film is set for Lusaka, Zambia. I am greatly honoured to play a main role,” he said.
Ngoma said he got a message some time back from Mwape, Owas Mwape’s son, the director of Zuba, to send a clip.
“He told me it was an audition for a film. I did and three days later he told me that I got the lead role,” he said.
Shooting for the film starts on Saturday and Ngoma leaves today.
“The film is titled Sabali and talks about love, history and the supernatural. I am not sure how long I will stay there but it depends on shooting,” he said.
Filmmaker and actor Flora Suya has also starred in a Zambian film by Owas Mwape and she is also part of a popular series, Zuba.
