Keturah’s album launch May 27

Keturah who goes by the moniker Local Girl will launch her long awaited self-titled album on May 27 2023 at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre.
The musician, who recorded the album at Hen House Studios in United States of America, last year confirmed the development adding that the album will be officially released on May 19 2023.
“The launch is on. I am ready and people should just watch the space for more announcements as we head towards the launch on May 27,” Keturah said.
Ahead of the launch, Keturah has dropped two singles off the album namely ‘Kwanumkwanu’ and ‘All the Way from Africa’ with the third single titled ‘Nchiwewe’ released Wednesday to all streaming and digital service providers worldwide.
“In my country, many young people face heartbreaks, some end up hurting themselves, committing suicide, doing things that are not necessary.
“Sometimes we end up doing unnecessary things, we put all the faults on us, we feel guilty if the relationships or marriages end, we feel it’s our fault. This is what I am talking about in this song,” Keturah said.
Producer of the album Harlan Steinberger said recently that the two songs that Keturah has released have received an overwhelming response and that they were hoping for the same with the third single as well as the whole album.
“Keturah is a wise, old soul with a voice and talent that transcends. This album is rooted in Malawi musical culture with some Southern California overtones,” Harlan said.
Mark Johnson of Playing for Change also said recently that it was the honour of his life and Playing For Change to be involved in Keturah’s new album.
“She has so much talent and brings so much light to the world”, Johnson said.
