Keturah’s album which she recorded at Hen House in United States of America (USA) last year is set to be launched in May.

Jacaranda Cultural Centre (JCC) Director Luc Deschamps, who initiated the move alongside his wife Marie Da Silva, founder of Jacaranda School for Orphans, said the album is ready and that now they were making final touches including working on the artwork.

“The album is ready when it comes to the music. We are now working on the artwork for the album cover and the vinyl,” Deschamps said.

He also said that Jeremy Steinberger (producer Harlan Steinberger’s son – who is a journalist) is working on the documentary on Keturah’s trip in USA including recording sessions images – with additional images from Malawi that “we are filming now”.

Deschamps also said that they were working on music videos to be ready for the album launch.

“There so much we want to do but after the launch, we are also looking at Keturah touring with the album both in the country and international,” he said.

Deschamps said several musicians of high repute worked on Keturah’s album and they include Jason Tamba (guitar, vocals), Mermans Mosengo (drums, percussion, vocals), Kaveh Rastegar (bass), Prince Diabate (kora), Chris Tuttle (piano) and Mickey Raphael (harmonica).

Steinberger, who is a Grammy nominated producer also said that Keturah’s album is finished.

“We are planning on how to best distribute the record either. Mainly, which record label to use. It may be released on the Hen House Studios record label, but we are also looking at a few other labels,” he said.

Keturah, better known as Local Girl and creator of tracks such as ‘Nambewe’ and ‘Munditengereko’, said recently that she had a great time in USA recording the album and that she is looking forward to sharing the music with the world.

The USA trip was Keturah’s first international trip since she started her music career.
