Flames striker Khuda Muyaba has said it feels great to score his first goal of the season for Glad Africa Championship side Polokwane City.
Muyaba registered his name on the score sheet in Polokwane’s 2-1 loss to Platinum City Rovers on Saturday.
It was his third game for Polokwane in the current campaign.
Muyaba insisted Sunday that the best was yet to come from him this season.
“The first goal of the season is always important as it will boost my confidence. I want to help my team so that we fight for PSL promotion,” the former Silver Strikers forward said.
Defender Chembezi Dennis and midfielder Mike Mkwate also featured for Polokwane.
Muyaba scored seven goals in the Glad Africa Championship last season.
He joined Polokwane in January 2020 after winning the TNM Super League golden boot award with 21 goals.
Flames coach Meck Mwase was excited that the majority of his players were in action for their respective clubs in South Africa.
“Khuda is a hard worker. We need all the players to be in shape ahead of upcoming matches,” Mwase said.
The Flames will face Ivory Coast in World Cup qualifiers next month.
In the DStv Premiership, there was no place for Flames striker Gabadinho Mhango in Orlando Pirates’ squad as they beat Moroka Swallows 1-0 at Orlando Stadium.
But striker Richard Mbulu and midfielder Gerald Phiri Junior were on the losing side as Baroka suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Maritzburg United.
Mbulu was in the starting line-up but failed to rescue his side whereas Phiri Junior came off the bench.
