RELIEF—Muyaba in training
with new team mates

Striker Khuda Muyaba and defender Dennis Chembezi Friday beat transfer window deadline when they got registered in time for their new club Polokwane City FC.

The international transfer window closed yesterday but there was a delay in concluding deals for the Malawians players.

However, there was a sigh of relief Friday for Muyaba and Chembezi as Polokwane concluded the registration process for them before the transfer window shut.

In an interview on Friday, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Transfer Matching System Manager, Casper Jangale confirmed that the association had issued International Transfer Certificates (ITC) for the two players.

“It is done deals now for Khuda and Chembezi as I have all the documents. For Chikoti Chirwa, we are still waiting for other documents for us to issue the clearance,” Jangale said.

Muyaba sealed a four-year deal with South African side Polokwane City FC whereas Chembezi also joined the same club on a two and half year contract.

Another Flames player, Chirwa reportedly got a one-year deal with Amazulu FC but was immediately loaned out to Royal Eagles FC.

However, with the transfer deadline looming, the players were in danger of missing the registration in time.

Muyaba has joined Polokwane after a successful season with Silver Strikers. He scored 21 goals in the TNM Super League to win the Golden Boot Award.

Chembezi and Chirwa have been reliable players for the Flames.

Polokwane are stuck in the relegation zone with 17 points from 20 matches at par with bottom-placed Amazulu FC.
