Moyale Barracks FC striker, Khuda Muyaba, has hinted that he might leave the Mzuzu-based TNM Super League club, saying he wants new challenges.
The 24-year-old said he was eyeing a move to Kinnah Phiri-coached Mochudi Centre Chiefs of Botswana.
The former Malawi national football team coach, while in charge of Tanzania’s Mbeya City FC last year, nearly signed Muyaba.
Muyaba added that his second option might be another army team, Kamuzu Barracks.
Moyale also lost Zondiwe Munthali and Suwedi Limbani, who joined Masters Security FC two weeks ago.
The Lions of Kaning’ina might, next season, also be without eight players, who have been earmarked for Malawi Defence Force duties outside the country.
“Of course, I cannot give every detail of why I want to leave Moyale so badly. But I just want to start something new. So, come 2018 [season], I want to be at another club,” the Flames forward said.
Moyale assistant Coach, Charles Kamanga, said his team has been conducting meetings on how to replace departed players.
“Sometimes, it is not good to cling on to a player who does not want to play for you. So, it is a thing that we are looking into, especially on who to bring to replace those who have left.
“On Khuda, I cannot say much, but it is good to give a chance to a player to discover himself at another level,” Kamanga said.
