KIM talks EP
Following the release of ‘Cool Like that’ and ‘Run Away’ this year, singer Kim has revealed that she is working on new a self-titled six-track EP titled Kim of Diamonds.
Speaking in an interview, Kim said the EP was inspired by the different emotions people experience when they are in relationships which may vary from liking someone to loving someone to when they are officially together.
“I’ve been working on this EP for some time and is due to be released later this month,” Kim said.
She said the EP is titled Kim of Diamonds “because that’s the name most people recognize me by and it’s my social media handle on media platforms.”
“So it’s a way to make it easier for people to look me up and connect with my music. The songs are fused with afro-beats, straight-forward lyrics and catchy choruses some of which were inspired by actual conversations,” she explained.
Her recent single ‘Run Away’ which was released on July 11 is currently enjoying airplay in some of the local radio stations.
Commenting on ‘Run Away’, Kim said, the song was inspired by the early stages of a love relationship.
“I am singing about a girl running away to meet her lover and she finally decides to tell her parents about it in stages, first addressing the mother and then the father,” Kim said.
Kim said the songs in the EP have been produced by BFB and Sonye who both have injected their magic and vibes into the production.
