Knights to crown best performers
Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) giants, Central Knights Basketball team will Saturday host an awards’ ceremony for its players at American Pirates Casino in Lilongwe.
Knights finished top of Cezobal but came fourth in the play-offs which Cougars won recently.
Emmanuel Phiri, spokesperson of the organising committee, said the ceremony is aimed at motivating the players ahead of next season.
“The ceremonial gala has been taking place for the past years. As a team our main objective is to be a footprint of Malawian Basketball. We want to make this year’s award ceremony epic,” Phiri explained.
“As one big family, we will bid farewell to 2015, as we will be highlighting and honoring the achievements of the team and some of the individuals, who did exceptionally well in certain categories.”
The team was formed in 2013 and finished on position one in the league in 2014 and 2015, but lost on play-offs on both occasions.
