Kudakwache Bandamocks Limbani Masamba

Local welterweight champion, Kudakwache Banda, has mocked challenger, Limbani Masamba that he lacks strength and technique.

Kudakwache, 23, has taunted Limbani ahead of their eight-round non-title bout set for September 4 at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe.

Kudakwache, the young brother to veteran Philemon Nkhakamila Banda, has been tipped as the next big thing for domestic boxing.

He is unbeaten in the professional ranks. He has won 12 straight bouts, including eight knockouts.

He lifted the welterweight title after defeating Chikondi Makawa on points.

Kudakwache said Limbani, 26, was not strong enough to give him headache.

“That does not mean that I underrate him. In boxing, anything can happen, including lucky punches. I will show him that we are class apart. He does not have the technique and strength to overcome me,” he said.

Limbani, who boasts of 15 wins and five defeats in 20 fights, said he was determined to prove that he can match Kudakwache pound- by-pound.

“This is a different fight so he should refrain from making strong statements which he cannot defend in the ring. He will pay for such statements. I will punish him,” he said.

New Dawn Boxing Promotions Managing Director, Mik e Chimaliza, said the fight was part of Kudakwache’s preparations for his welterweight title defence.

“The pairing is quite exciting and we know that the two will give their supporters a rare treat,” he said.
