Kukoma Eagles have won the Southern Zone Basketbal l League (Sozobal) Ladies’ Division championship in their maiden season after overcoming defending champions Mikoko Mystics 2-0 in best-of-three series played at Blantyre Youth Centre.

Eagles beat Mikoko 57- 37 on Friday then 70-32 the following day to wrap up the title before going to game three, a development that excited the new champions’ vice captain Sekai Mponda.
