Kuyera wants teamwork to lift football standards

Football Association of Malawi (Fam) executive committee aspirant, Christopher Kuyera, has said football can transform to greater heights if all stakeholders were united.
The Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Treasurer said he has noticed that most affiliates had the similar manifestos but presented in a different way.
“This means everyone is aware of the problems our football is facing. If you can closely look at the manifestos for most candidates you will discover that our challenges are the same. Most of them have offered similar solutions. So if we are to solve the problems and transform football then we need to work jointly,” he said.
Fam will hold its elective annual general meeting at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi on December 14.
Currently, six members were nominated and they include Sulom Legal Adviser, Muhammed Selemani, lawyer Felister Dossi, incumbent Rashid Ntelera, Chimango Munthali and Davis Sado.
Meanwhile, Kuyera admitted the race to be elected committee member was stiff but remained confident of victory.
“I have been meeting Fam affiliates and I have sold them my agenda. I believe most of them know what I am saying and capable of. I am have strong passion for football and I believe that I can contribute more to football development in the country if I get this position,” he said.
