Ladies party in Mulanje

Ladies on Saturday partied all night at Hapuwani Lodge in Mulanje during a Ladies Night Out organised by Nzika in conjunction with Hapuwani Lodge.

The ladies, some of who travelled all the way from Blantyre with the biggest number from Mulanje, for once forgot about taking care of their families and decided to party.

Apart from showcasing their dance moves through dance competitions, the ladies also had time to share business tips.

There were ladies who are working in banks who shared tips on how they could access loans for running different businesses while others spoke about the successes of their small businesses.

The long night also saw the ladies being treated to sumptuous dinner and later they also sampled different designs produced by Nzika spearheaded by a couple of Mwayi and Sheena Namaona.

The ladies also won different prizes through dancing competitions and raffle draws.

Florence Chilewe of Hapuwani Lodge described the event as a good platform for women to interact and also get the much needed fun.

“As women we need such time to have fun but also share ideas on the successes and challenges. This is just the beginning and this is why we did not have more women but next time it should be fine,” said Chilewe.

She also said that in most cases Ladies Nights only take place in the cities of Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu but it was time that other areas embraced them.

Sheena said they were satisfied with the outcome of the Ladies Night which brought women from different fields despite that they did not pull a bigger audience.

“We had women working in different organisations join others who are doing businesses. Again as Nzika we have a lot of things on offer, we do decorations for different events as well as designs so, we want our brand to be embraced all over,” she said.

Sheena also said that there is a lot they are doing in terms of running different events which they want to bring out to the world.

Ivy Fosa, who is Sheena’s business partner and was the master of ceremonies also said the Ladies Night lived up to its billing and that they will continue with the move.
