Lauren Ngwira to face former team

Malawi national netball team and Manchester Thunder star, Lauren Ngwira, is set to face her former side Loughborough Lightning as the England netball Vitality Super League champions throw off their British Fast5 Netball All- Stars Championship at the Copper Box Arena Saturday.
Ngwira linked up with Malawian compatriot Joyce Mvula at Thunder about a month ago after also turning out for London Pulse.
The two were then joined at the champions by Queens’ exciting centre, Takondwa Lwazi, who signed on a short term deal.
The competition returns for its third year and will see teams such as Storm, Severn Stars, Celtic Dragons, Thunder, Team Bath, Loughborough, Saracens Mavericks and Wasps Netball taking to the court.
The tournament is expected to be action-packed with 12-minute matches, five players on court, an all-star five-point line and the Golden Buzzer Power Play.
Surrey Storm will lock horns with Saracens Mavericks in the first round as defending champions, Wasps Netball, take on Severn Stars.
Loughborough will have Jo Harten in their ranks against Thunder while Team Bath will tussle with Celtic Dragons.
According to Sky Sports, a number of teams have used their option to draft in an all-star pick with shooters Jhaniele Fowler, Harten and Erin Bell all taking to court.
“With the potential for high points off every shot, the pressure will be on these shooters but as last year’s competition showed-through MVP Rachel Dunn-a shooter that thrives can drive her team all the way to glory,” reads a report on skysports.com.
