Lawyer David Kanyenda arrested again

Police in Blantyre on Wednesday arrested lawyer David Kanyenda for the second time this year

National Police spokesperson, James Kadadzera, confirmed the development but could not be drawn to comment on the grounds for the arrest.

“We have arrested him [Kanyenda]. We are currently interviewing him but it will be difficult for me to state the grounds for his arrest because we fear it might jeopardise our investigations,” he said.

In March this year, Kanyenda was arrested for allegedly clinging to K5.8 million belonging to a client. The amount included legal fees.

He was later released on bail after he paid back the money.
