Capital City giants, Silver Strikers, have received a big boost after versatile midfielder, Lazarus Nyemera, resumed training, following his recovery from a knee injury.
There were fears that the former Mzuni midfielder could be out of action for more weeks but he has made a speedy recovery than expected.
New signing Khuda Muyaba also trained with Silver for the first time on Tuesday, Silver assistant Coach, Lovemore Fazili, confirmed.
“He (Nyemera) is one of our reliable players and it is good news for the club. We are also happy that Muyaba trained with his new teammates on Tuesday and he looks in good shape,” Fazili said.
Both players are in contention for Football Association of Malawi Charity Shield slated for Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe this weekend. Third-choice goalkeeper Steven Micheta remains injured.
Silver will meet TNM Super League champions, Be Forward Wanderers, soon after Nyasa Big Bullets and Kamuzu Barracks’ match at the same venue.
Silver also signed Jack Chiona, Newman Mwansamale, Zikani Kasambara, Collen Nkhulambe and Prince Phiri.
Former Silver midfielder Ulanda Kalua said the club had done good business on the transfer market.
“I think the technical panel had its targets and I am happy that they signed good players,” Kalua said.
