Having announced names of acts set to perform at this year’s Lake of Stars Festival dubbed Lake of Stars Discovery recently, the organisers have added some more acts to the line-up.

The latest additions to the line-up include trending artist Lazarus Chigwandali, who is set to release his album Stomp on the Devil in the United Kingdom next month, Sangie, The Very Best made up of members such as Johan Hugo and the country’s artist Esau Mwamwaya and rapper and guitarist Praise Umali.

Lazarus, who is a person living with albinism, will be making a comeback to the festival, having performed last year.

The artist has been on the up and, in May this year, his documentary was premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in United States of America.

The names of additions to the line-up have been posted on Lake of Stars Festival website.

Lazarus and Sangie as well as The Very Best have been added to the list of South African Music Awards winning afro-soul star Bongeziwe Mabandla.

Mabandla will be making his Malawi debut.

The other artists, who were part of the names announced early, include award-winning artist Hazel Mak.

Hazel Mak made history for the country last year when she grabbed the Best African Act in Diaspora Award for her track ‘Jaiva’, in which she features Zambia’s Roberto and Tay Grin in the All Africa Music Awards (Afrima).

She is also set to perform at this year’s Mzuzu Fashion Week to be held in October.

The other acts are Forbes Africa 30 under 30 nominee and storyteller and poet Upile Chisala and DJ RJ the DJ.

Lake of Stars Festival last year was held at Kabumba Hotel in Salima but this year’s Lake of Stars Discovery returns to its original home in Nkhata Bay but at a new venue – Kachere Kastle.

The event will be held from September 27 to 29.

Lake of Stars spokesperson and head of media, Zilanie Gondwe, confirmed thedevelopment Tuesday.

“We have new acts and the information is on the website,” Gondwe said.

Last year, the festival celebrated its 15th anniversary with a line-up that included Sauti Sol from Kenya and United States of America megastars Major Lazer.
