Leopards don’t sleep on beds

Black Leopards have parted ways with former Flames skipper Patrick Mabedi who was the South Africa Premier Soccer League team’s assistant coach.

Leopards released Mabedi alongside head coach Lionel Soccoia following a dismal start to the season, the club’s website reports.

“Black Leopards FC would like to confirm that the team parted ways with coach Lionel Soccoia, assistant coach Patrick Mabedi and team manager Professor Ngubane,” reads the club’s statement.

“The parties agreed to separate amicably for the sake of the team and supporters. Morgan Shivambu and Samuel Banda will be caretakers in the meantime while the board deliberates a way forward.”

Soccoia replaced Dylan Kerr in the off-season, joined by Mabedi whose previous job was with Kaizer Chiefs last season.

Leopards are on position 12 with four points from five matches on the log table which as Kaizer Chiefs leading with 10 points.
