Libertas General Insurance Company previously known as Liberty Insurance Company has opened a new branch in Mzuzu City as one way of bringing its service closer to people in the Northern Region.
Speaking after the launch of the new office on today, Libertas General Insurance Company Sales and Marketing Officer, Tisunge Chirwa said they have unique services which prompted some of their customers to urge them to open the new branch in the region.
“We have received complaints and recommendations that people in Mzuzu want our services and we thought it wise to open a new branch and this will help us reach to our clients in the northern region faster and easier.
Councilor for Chibavi West Gabriel Mwaungulu who presided over the launch said the coming of the insurance company in the city would create competition among insurance companies eventually pushing them to improve service delivery.
“People will have a wide range of choices as far as insurance companies are involved and it will also create job opportunities for youths in the city,” he said.
Libertas General Insurance Company has been operating in Malawi since 1996 and has branches in Lilongwe and Blantyre.
