Lilongwe-based businessman is smiling all the way to the bank after winning K20 million in a Premier Lotto Jackpot Super Five.
The 38-year-old man, who runs a grocery business, decided against disclosing his name, opting for a fake name of Gift Mwauka.
He said the money would change his life for the better as he would invest it in his business.
“I am excited to have landed this fortune. I am now better equipped to excel in my business. I play this game every day using change from my small business. I do this after paying my bills. My gratitude goes to Premier Lotto for helping me change my life,” Mwauka said.
Premier Bet Area Manager for Lilongwe Dan Fatch said the company is happy to have produced the first-ever super five jackpot winner under Premier Lotto.
“We introduced this game in December and Mwauka’s win is a big boost and motivation to all our lotto customers. It is exciting that he won this huge amount of money with a stake of K200 only.
“I should therefore encourage more Malawians to keep patronising the game and play more to enhance their chances of winning,” Fatch said.
Premier Bet Commercial Manager for Lilongwe Trevor Whitaker congratulated Mwauka for the win.
“We are happy and delighted to have produced the first winner in Gift and we are optimistic that this amount of money will better his life,” Whitaker said.
Playing Super Jackpot 5 involves selecting five numbers between 1 and 39 with winning starting from three numbers where one wins K500,000 and K100,000 for correctly predicting four numbers.
Winning an amount as high as K20 million comes from correctly predicting five numbers.
Jackpot Super 5 is played on daily basis with draws being held once a day at 18:30pm.
