Lilongwe gets second storytelling session

The storytelling sessions, spearheaded by Ekari Mbvundula and Wonawaka Gondwe, started at Jacaranda Cultural Centre (JCC) in Blantyre last year.

The sessions started on a slow note before gaining ground to capture the attention of many writers. Today, the sessions have grown wings and have been expanded to Lilongwe audiences.

In fact, there will be two storytelling sessions in Blantyre and Lilongwe.

And, this time, it is the turn of The Story Club in Lilongwe.

The writers set to present their works are Marcel Mtambo, Yamikani Mlangiza, Constance Munyenyembe, Nos Jondi, Shivani Shetty and Isaac Mafuel.

“We are ready for Lilongwe and we have so much variety in our Lilongwe stories this month,” Mbvundula said.

She said the stories selected include science fiction, drama, romance and murder mystery.

“All I can say is that the quality of the works is improving every month. We have two sessions this month, one in Lilongwe this weekend while the Blantyre session will be at Kwa Haraba on May 26,” she said.

Mbvundula said they will keep on being creative and bringing life to storytelling sessions.

Meanwhile, Mbvundula and team have called on writers to make their submissions to participate in the May 26 session in Blantyre.
