Lilongwe’s turn for storytelling
By Sam Banda Jnr:
After a successful showdown last Saturday at Jacaranda Cultural Centre (JCC) in Blantyre, the storytelling session which Story Ink Africa spearheads goes to Lilongwe Saturday.
The venue is Lilongwe Wildlife Centre.
One of the founders of Story Ink Africa, Ekari Mbvundula, Thursday said they are prepared for the event.
“Blantyre was amazing on Saturday, as writers read out good stories. This is Lilongwe’s turn,” Mbvundula said.
Running under the theme In My Feelings, the session will be spiced up by a performance from Zathu Band.
Writers that are set to star tomorrow include Mozesi Makwawa, Tamanda Kanjaye, Mphatso Kwambisi, Beatus Msamande, Sheila Goliati and Shivani Shetty.
Mbvundula said they were thankful to Hivos, through the Cultural Fund Malawi, for funding their events.
“They saw how we were doing with our events and were satisfied, hence coming in to support us. We will continue to offer the best,” she said.
During last weekend’s session, Story Ink Africa indicated that they would be hosting a Story Festival later this year.
