Limbe woman wins K3 million in FCB promo

Limbe-based business lady, Lucy Siliya, hit the jackpot over the weekend as she emerged the winner of the grand prize in First Capital Bank’s (FCB) January Waphweka Promotion.
This follows a grand draw of the promotion that the bank conducted over the weekend.
Siliya went away with K3,000,000 which she said will help boost her fashion business.
“I cannot believe this, business has been so tough the past few months, and this money will go towards purchasing new stock. I would like to thank First Capital Bank and I would like to encourage fellow customers to also take up the habit of saving, it helps,” Siliya said.
FCB Head of Transactional Banking and Marketing, Ewen Hiwa, said the promotion had excited a large base of their retail customers and also helped galvanise the adoption of its Mobile App which was a condition to enter the promotion.
“We have seen a steady growth in deposits throughout this campaign and I would like to thank our customers for their continued support.
“We further pledge to continue with our efforts in offering the best service and products to our customers at the back of our world class banking platforms,” Hiwa said.
Other customers of the bank, Agrippa Muyila, Daniel Chikwiri and Mounder Bosco Pearce Senga won consolation prizes of K500,000, K250,000 and K100,000 respectively.
The bank said the promotion was aimed at encouraging customers to put money away as they approached the festive season which is characterised with spending sprees.
To qualify, new and existing clients were required to download its mobile app and maintain a minimum of K100,000 in their accounts for a month.
