Lloyd Nkhwazi linked with Dwangwa United
Dwangwa United Coach Macdonald Mtetemera’s future at the club remains in doubt as reports indicate that the Lake Shore side is eyeing Lloyd Nkhwazi.
Dwangwa’s Executive Committee has been elusive on the future of Mtetemera whose one-year contract has ended.
Nkhwazi has emerged as the favourite for a return to Dwangwa as his position at Nyasa Big Bullets is not clear.
Dwangwa General Secretary, Samson Zimba, said if Nkhwazi is available for the job he will be welcome at the club.
“Currently, Mtetemera is still the team’s Head Coach. Regarding his contract, this is an issue that the executive will be concluding anytime this week,” Zimba said.
“At the moment, we have nothing on the table regarding Mr. Nkhwazi but if he is available, we will be happy to have a chat with him and see some areas he can assist in.”
Nkhwazi yesterday said reports linking him with Dwangwa were not far from the truth.
“I am going there on Saturday for discussions. It is my team,” Nkhwazi said.
Nkhwazi, who was Bullets’ Head Coach, is likely to be released as the newly-hired mentor, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan, has opted for Patrick Kulemeka and Elia Kananji as his assistants.
Nkhwazi has been part of the Dwangwa family having made history by becoming the only Super League coach to manage a single team for 14 years.
At Dwangwa, Nkhwazi groomed players such as Esau Kanyenda, Jafali Chande, Sankhani Mkandawire, Trust Lunda, Wisdom Ndhlovu and George Nyirenda.
