Veteran gospel musician Lloyd Phiri will Saturday wed Elinat Mvula.
The officiation of the architect of ‘Sachedwa Safulumira’ and ‘Musagwedezeke’ will take place at Kawale Assemblies of God, Harvest Temple, in Lilongwe and thereafter reception at Chicco Events Garden.
This is Phiri’s second marriage, having divorced with Harriet Chipinda.
“I wedded in 2006 but due to other circumstances, things did not go well. We sorted out everything as regards my first marriage and now God has made it possible for me to marry again,” he said.
The artist has not been active in terms of live performances but has been vibrant in the studio, working with artists.
The last time Phiri released an album was in 2012 but he said Thursday he will be dropping his latest album in December this year.
His other albums are Ndagwiritsa (2002), N’dangokhudza (2005), Sikuthekera Kwanga (2007) and Assorted (2011).
In another development, Kaliso Art Gallery in Lilongwe will today hold the closing night for Kabaza Art Exhibition by Myck Mtika with music by Neil Nayar and poetry by Wanga.
