Local government by-elections today

At least 27 thousand registered voters are casting their votes in today’s local government By-election MEC officials have said.

The polls are taking place in five wards of Khwawa in Karonga, Chiwanja in Mzuzu, Msikisi in Mangochi, Luchenza in Thyolo and Zomba Central Ward, MEC officials have said.

Earlier on, MEC spokesperson Sangwani Mwafulirwa told Times all preparations for the smooth running of the elections have been successful.
