Netherlands-based model and former Miss Malawi organiser Mabel Banda Khonje arrived in the country on Tuesday ahead of the launch of her Boudoir Dollmabel lingerie line Saturday at Latitude 13 in Lilongwe.
Having launched the lingerie line in Netherlands last month, Mabel said Thursday she was happy to launch the line here in Malawi.
“I am happy to be back home and more importantly to launch my Boudoir Dollmabel lingerie line. I have been looking forward to this launch. For Covid-19 pandemic purposes, we are restricting numbers,” Mabel said.
Running under the theme ‘Unleash the Goddess in You’, the launch will also feature performances of Lily B, Lucent the Violinist and DJ Nathan Tunes.
“I have received so much support from people. Having launched in Netherlands, the store is open and the lingerie is available for purchase and the demand is really high,” she said.
Mabel said the biggest thing is that “I want to focus on in launching this line to encourage women to feel good about themselves”.
The model created and designed the lingerie having been inspired by Rihanna.
“There are lots of shops selling clothes in Malawi but you cannot find a shop for lingerie and that drove me to create it,” she said.
The launch at Latitude 13 will be followed by an after party at Epic Lounge.
