Madalitso Band in 10 weeks European tour
Madalitso Band, the duo of Yosefe Kalekeni and Yobu Maligwa, will leave the country next month for their fifth European tour.
Co-manager Neil Nayar confirmed Thursday of the 10 weeks tour, where they will hold a total of 50 concerts.
“We fly out on May 4 2022. We start off in Lyon, France. We have about 10 shows in France and then we also have gigs in Switzerland, Italy and then the United Kingdom for the last two weeks,” Nayar said.
He said they are expected back on July 20 2022.
“We will also shoot a documentary and make sure that we reach out through online platforms. And on the cards this year, we have our first United States of America tour in September,” Nayar, who recently performed in Zambia and Zimbabwe alongside George Kalukusha, said.
Last year, the Lilongwe-based group toured France where it held close to 35 gigs.
Ahead of their European tour, Madalitso Band and Nayar will hold a farewell show dubbed Mix and Mingle at Madsoc Theatre in Lilongwe tonight.
Nayar said the show will give people a chance to sample Madalitso Band’s music from their upcoming album as well as his new musical comedy showdown.
