Mafco captain, Paul Ndhlovu is optimistic he will replicate his good form in the 2020 TNM Super League season.
Ndhlovu, who was named 2019 Chipiku Central Region Football League Player of the Year, was rewarded with a senior national football team non-residential call up following his exploits in the lower division.
The defender said his main task was to ensure that Mafco do not get relegated on their return to the top flight.
“As a captain, I realise the responsibility I am entrusted with. So I have to inspire my teammates so that the team should do well. I always work hard and this accolade will not make mi get carried away,” Ndhlovu said.
Ndhlovu who also had stints with Cobbe Barracks and Embangweni United before joining Mafco, said he still hopes for international offers.
“Every player dreams of playing for top clubs in top countries. However, I am not in a hurry as I focus on earning a national team place where there are high chances of being spotted by scouts,” he said.
Mafco Coach, Stereo Gondwe hailed Ndhlovu for his remarkable contribution in steering the Malawi Defence Force side to earn Super League promotion after amassing 99 points in 40 games.
“Ndhlovu has been an instrumental player in the team and I hope he continues to improve his game. As a club we are all happy for him,” he said.
