Mafco top league table
Mafco have moved to the top of the TNM Super League table after a 2-0 victory over rookies Dedza Young Soccer.
The Malawi Defence Force side now has nine points and perch at the summit of the table.
Big Bullets, Red Lions, Azam Tigers and Mighty Wanderers are tied at seven points apiece.
But Lions are now on second position owing to a better goal aggregate followed by Blue Eagles on third position and Mighty Wanderers on fourth position.
Defending champions Big Bullets, who were held to one-all draw by Kamuzu Barracks at Dedza Stadium on Saturday, are now on fifth position.
Azam Tigers moved to position six with seven points after beating Civo United 2-0 at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
Meanwhile, Silver Strikers collected first points after a 2-0 victory over rookies Mzuni at Silver Stadium.
Striker Green Harawa scored the opener before his partner Peter Wadabwa sealed the student’s fate.
The victory comes after two back-to-back losses in the former champions’ opening fixtures.
The bankers lost 1-0 to Bullets in the launch game at Civo Stadium two weeks ago.
They were later defeated by Mafco at Chitowe in their second fixture.
But yesterday they got things right getting the better of the rookies, who on Saturday stunned Epac 1-0.
