South Africa’s musical group Mafikizolo is expected to perform in the country next month courtesy of KCP Entertainment and Fepo Entertainment.
Mafikizolo is a singing duo consisting of Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza.
They are three-time winners of the South African Music Award for Group or Duo of the Year.
The group is well known for hits such as Meet Me At The River and Marabi.
The poster for the shows dubbed Summer Jam Africa indicates that Mafikizolo will perform at Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe on December 22 and December 23 at Robins Park in Blantyre.
Fepo Entertainment is a Malawian company which came out recently announcing that it wants to help promote upcoming artists while KCP Entertainment is a South African company.
Fepo Music Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Felina Sakala said yesterday that the shows in Lilongwe and Blantyre were on 100 percent.
“I can confirm we have the Summer Jam Africa featuring s ev eral acts including Mafikizolo,” Sakala said.
She said that Mafikizolo has been in the country twice and that they are loved by a lot of people.
“I am working with a South African company in these shows and doing a tour with upcoming artists King Soja, Ambani, who is the queen of house and Shumza from South Africa, Jazz Kid from Nigeria and Flava and Virus from Malawi,” Sakala said.
She said they thought of how best they could spice up the tour hence bringing in well known acts in Mafikizolo, Lulu, Piksy and Theo Thomson.
“We are also excited in that Mafikizolo also have a new Chewa track titled Kucheza. People should really brace for more fun during the two shows in Blantyre and Lilongwe,” Sakala said.
She also said that the tickets for the shows will start selling on Monday.
Regular advance ticket for the show in Lilongwe is at K17,000 whilst at the door it will cost K20,000. VIP advance ticket is selling at K27,000 while at the door it will be K30,000.
In Blantyre the advance tickets are selling at K12,000 each with K15,000 at the door.
