Makosana, an arts and entertainment online platform, has kept its trend of supporting talent in the country by building youthful reggae dancehall artist Jasamah.
Jasamah has since made headway and is among the country’s rising stars.
Real name Laston Malabo, Jasamah last month headlined a Pre-Valentine’s Day show at University of Malawi where he shared the stage with Piksy, Suffix and Henry Czar.
“I am grateful for the opportunity that Makosana gave me. My music is now enjoying airplay in most local radio stations,” the Ndirande-based star said.
Jasamah came into the limelight after impressing people with his rap bars in a microphone battle.
The Blantyre-based artist recently released a music video titled ‘Ziwindi’ in which he featured one of the winners of Makosana Mic Battle Cutey B.
Makosana Director George Cardin Giant, better known as Cardinal, hailed Jasamah for the strides he has made despite not doing well in the competition.
“Jasamah never made it as a finalist. But he didn’t give up and we are happy with what he is doing now,” he said.
Meanwhile, Makosana has announced that the mic battle season two is on, having started Tuesday.
The first season was held last year.
Makosana, which focuses on music, organises competitions through mic battles and freestyle sessions.
