Malawi-China strategise on development projects
By Faith Kamtambe:
The Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Relations has said it is working with the Chinese government to formulate a roadmap on what projects should be implemented in Malawi with support from China in the next decade.
The committee’s chairperson, Alex Major, said Malawi has benefitted from the China funded projects such as Bingu National Stadium.
He said, going forward, they want to select another sector which can benefit from the support of the Chinese government.
Members of the committee recently travelled to China to discuss with Chinese officials the next step the two countries should take.
“We are trying to formulate priorities for the two countries. We want to have a road-map on how the two countries will move together to the next decade. We are going to see what needs to be prioritised,” he said.
