Malawi Congress Party to honour Kamuzu
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has said on this year’s Kamuzu Day, the party will hold special activities in honour of the country’s founding president, Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda.
The party’s publicity Secretary, Jessie Kabwila and Deputy Campaign Director Joseph Njovuyalema made the announcement at a press conference in Lilongwe.
Njovuyalema said Kamuzu did a lot to the nation and deserves that special day.
“It is important that we remember Kamuzu Banda. This was a great man, seriously speaking. I am talking about his greatness in terms of his achievements,” Njovuyalema said.
Kabwila has said on the day, 14 May, there will be Super Tambala Dinner.
“This is the celebration of Kamuzu, father and founder of the nation. It is going to happen at the Capital Hotel Marquee from 18:00 hours,” Kabwila said.
She added: “We are going to be honouring our party veterans from the north, central, south, the east.”
