Preparations for the 2021 Malawi Singles Darts Championship slated for Mangochi next month have gathered pace after Godka Technologies donated K150,000 towards the self-sponsored event.

One of the organisers, Kelvin Nyirenda, said the support was timely as the countdown towards the event continues.

“Godka Technologies has become the first company to support the darts games. The company has paid K150,000 which has been broken down into two; with K100,000 being the Charles Katola tournament fee while K50,000 is for advertising as the company will mount its banner at the tournament venue.

“This is commendable and darts players are encouraged with this support. We are hopeful that other companies will emulate this,” he said.

The tournament has targeted 32 men and 16 women players to raise K4 million sponsorship.

For registration each male player must pay K100,000 while ladies are paying half the amount.
