Malawi government still investigating Nandolo
Beleaguered Chief Executive Officer for Blantyre City Council Ted Nandolo will have to wait a little longer to get his verdict because the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development is still investigating him.
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development spokesperson Mulhabase Mughogho said this in an interview on Wednesday.
“The ministry has not passed the verdict yet. They are still investigating administrative issues,” she said.
But Mughogho could not disclose the administrative issues the ministry is investigating.
She said ministry officials are the ones that are currently conducting their investigations at Blantyre City Council.
Mughogho also said Nandolo would remain on suspension on no pay.
Nandolo refused to comment on the matter when contacted, saying those who made the decision are in a better position to answer all the questions.
Nandolo was suspended for allegedly implementing salary increments without following required procedures.
