Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has started advance ticket sales for the international friendly between the Flames and Lesotho slated for Bingu National Stadium this Saturday.

Fam announced yesterday that advance standard tickets are being sold at K2,000 whereas match day tickets will go at K3,000.

The VIP tickets are being sold at K8,000 whereas match day tickets will be sold at K10,000.

Corporate box tickets for 10 people are going at K150,000 advance but will fetch K200,000 on match day.

Fam Commercial Director Limbani Matola said the tickets were distributed to all designated places by weekend.

“We are monitoring trends on the market. We are happy that people are excited to buy the tickets considering that this is the first match on home soil since June last year,’’ Matola said.

He appealed to fans to put on Flames replica kits during the match.

“This is also a good opportunity for the fans to buy the new replica jersey,” he said.

The Flames are using the match as part of preparations for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying matches against Egypt to be played on March 24 and 28.

One of the local fans, Jonathan Chikhawo, said he was ready to buy a ticket to watch the game.

“We want to watch the team after a long time,” he said.

The team relocated to Lilongwe from Blantyre ahead of the friendly.

After the match against Lesotho, the Flames will travel to Saudi Arabia for a two-week camp.

Flames coach Marian Mario Marinica will travel with Malawi-based players to Saudi Arabia.

Group D is wide open as all the four teams have three points each after two rounds of matches.

The Flames are second in the group, behind leaders Ethiopia, whereas Guinea and Egypt are third and fourth, respectively.
