Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) personnel on Friday sealed the premises of one of the country’s print media houses, Nation Publications Limited at Ginnery Corner in Blantyre.
Times crew which visited the scene later in the day found the place heavily guarded by armed police officers.
Inside sources say the tax collector pounced on the company for tax arrears, but it was not immediately known as to how much the company owes MRA.
When contacted, MRA Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager Wilma Chalulu said she was in a meeting and needed time to gather more details on the matter, and did not pick up the phone thereafter.
