Malawi to host regional women in tourism meet

Malawi will host the second Southern Africa Women in Tourism (SAWIT) conference to be held in the capital Lilongwe from November 22 to 25.
Director of tourism, Patricia Liabuba, said the conference will provide a platform for women to share knowledge and expertise in the tourism sector.
“This is required for sustainable growth and inclusive development of tourism and social transformation in the countries of the region,” she said.

About 100 delegates from across the region are expected to participate in the conference.
SAWIT was established to empower women in the region to ensure they are active in the sustainable growth and development of tourism.
