Malawi wins Miss Photogenic Africa

By Foster Benjamin:
Malawian beauty pageant winner and model, Etta Chirwa, has been crowned Miss Photogenic Africa 2020, beating nine other contestants in the Miss Black Beauty Africa 2020.
Chirwa was crowned winner online due to Covid-19 pandemic travel restrictions in a contest hosted by Glamour Face.
“I feel great to take home this year’s crown, and it’s been a great experience. I came out 13 in the main Miss Black Beauty Africa 2020 but I emerged first as Miss Photogenic,” the 2018 Miss Glam & Glory second princess, said.
She said that her crowning will help propel her modelling career beyond borders.
“I really look forward to contesting in more international contests once Covid-19 pandemic crisis is over. We hope the world will get back to normal again since we have also been hardest hit by the pandemic,” she said.
The contest, which drew together models from over 10 African countries, saw Kenyan Monika Achieng crowned Miss Black Beauty Africa 2020.
Mozambique’s Niria Da Labiba was second while Ariyke H. Cymbeart from Nigeria was a second runner.
