Manchester United scout Cosafa bound
Premier League giants, Manchester United, have reportedly dispatched a scout to the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) Castle Cup in South Africa.
TimesLive website of South Africa reported that United’s Africa-based chief scout, Omar Sciolla, has arrived in the Rainbow Nation ahead of the tournament’s kick off on Sunday.
The tournament, which will take place in Polokwane, ends on June 9. Malawi’s Flames will participate in the tournament.
According to TimesLive, Sciolla, who is based in Senegal, also witnessed a Caf Champions League encounter between Horoya and Mamelodi Sundowns in Conakry, Guinea, on Tuesday.
United have in their books African player Eric Bailly from Cote d’Ivoire.
In the past, United have signed African players such as Eric Djemba-Djemba (Cameroon), Manucho (Angola) and Quintone Fortune (South Africa).
