Marvelous Deeds —the trio of Francis Phiri, Abel Sanena and Weston Chapwaila—takes to the stage today to celebrate the New Year but also showcase their blue print for the year with a concert at Robin’s Park in Blantyre.

The group said the concert will give them a platform to showcase their talent as well as introduce new songs to the audience.

“It will be an exciting moment taking into consideration that we are talking about the New Year. It has been a long journey from January to December but here we are, alive, and, so, it is right and proper to celebrate it with a marvelous celebration,” Sanena said.

He said, as headliners, they also thought it wise to bring in other artists.

“Our journey as Marvelous Deeds started way back in 2001 but it took us four years to get organised and release our first album in 2005. Since then, it has been fun ministering the word of God through music,” Phiri said.

Other artists performing at the concert are Shammah Vocals, Eliza Mponya, Clara Ngulube, Saxess, Robertson Music, Henry Masamba and Ennoh.

“We know we have the Covid-19 but we will make sure we follow all the necessary precautionary measures. We just want to call upon people to come in large numbers and also not forget bring masks,” Phiri said.

The gospel group has over the years released albums such as Matamando, Mulinane Cholinga, Sanathane Nane and Back to Sender
