Marvelous Deeds set to launch ‘Chimwemwe Changa’ DV
LILONGWE-based group Marvelous Deeds will this weekend launch the DVD for their Chimwemwe Changa album at Gymkhana Club in Zomba before the climax at Sheaffer ICA Marque in Lilongwe.
The launch will be spiced up by performances from other acts and they include Peter Uyu Mlangeni, King James Phiri, Thocco Katimba Evans Meleka, Prophets of Vision (POV), The Great Angels Choir, Ndirande Anglican Voices and Kamuzu Barracks Gospel Singers.
The group made up of Abel Sanena, Francis Phiri and Weston Chipwaila said they were expected to hold the launch in Blantyre and Lilongwe but they later settled for Zomba and Lilongwe after failing to secure a venue in Blantyre.
“We are ready and everything concerning the show is in place. We call upon people to come in large numbers to listen to gospel songs,” said the trio.
Marvelous Deeds released the Chimwemwe Changa album last year but decided to take their time in working on the DVD. The group’s other albums are Matamando and Mfumu Mukhale. Chimwemwe Changa was recorded by Loyd Phiri, Lulu and Evans Meleka. According to the trio, the music videos for the DVD were produced by Precious Chikatiko.
“We have worked so hard on the music videos and we believe people will love all the music videos,” said the group which started in 2005.
