Masm renews partnership with Health International
Medical Aid Society of Malawi (Masm) has renewed its partnership with Health International, a development which will see Masm members having access to health services outside Malawi.
Speaking in Lilongwe at a breakfast meeting to announce the renewal, which comes after the two parted ways over remittal differences, Masm Chief Executive Officer, Sydney Chikoti, said the two decided to revisit the agreement following improvements in some economic fundamentals.
“Foreign exchange challenges the country faced in the past led to the withdrawal as we were not able to remit the premium,” Chikoti said.
Among the services available under the facility is evacuation through air ambulance in emergencies.
“The level of cover is from one million dollars per member per annum on platinum membership to $250,000 for those on Super Emerald schemes.
Health International, headquartered in Zimbambwe, has been operating in sub-Sahara Africa since 1990.
